The International Cotton Advisory Committee (ICAC), a dynamic association of governments of cotton producing, consuming & trading countries, will hold its 2019 Plenary Meeting in Australia.

The ICAC 78th Plenary Meeting at the Sofitel Brisbane Central, Brisbane, Queensland, from 2-6 December 2019 will focus on the theme Global Leadership: Pushing Cotton’s Boundaries.

Proudly hosted by the Australian Government and the Australian cotton industry, the event will bring together ICAC Members from about 30 countries to meet Australian cotton growers, ginners, shippers, marketers, analysts, brokers, policy makers, textile manufacturers, agricultural suppliers, and investment bankers.

The environment in which the global cotton industry operates is rapidly changing. The challenge worldwide is to continue adapting to these changes, while remaining profitable, sustainable and competitive.

The industry faces increased volatility in production, prices and climate, rising input costs, the need to encourage sustainable production systems, an increasing push for a circular textile economy and distortions to production and trade.

The ICAC 78th Plenary Meeting will tackle issues, share ideas and identify effective ways for a more vibrant cotton industry.  You can expect lively debate on innovation, fresh ideas, new initiatives and a reflection on the global cotton situation.

  • Expect sessions led by outstanding industry speakers and panellists
  • Be informed, share your expertise and ideas in interactive sessions
  • Collaborate in the World Café
  • Experience the Australian cotton industry on an informative technical tour
  • Network and enjoy the social activities planned.

This event is a chance for all involved across industry sectors to review global and domestic issues and contribute to an environment where ideas can germinate, providing a pathway to the future.
